I have co-founded three startups and developed several digital fabrication and open source hardware projects over the past years. All of these projects have in common the fact that they aim to develop and deploy digital fabrication in ways that overcome the challenges posed by the current state of Brazilian industrial and socio-economic policy such as high importation taxes and weak currency value. Together, these factors create a context in which advanced technologies are either very expensive or inaccessible, making entrepreneurship and innovation extremely onerous. I have dedicated my work and energy to tackling these problems - which are not unique to Brazil but affect developing countries throughout the world - and to bringing accessible digital fabrication technology to underdeveloped nations through the implementation of open-source hardware and of creative solutions to persistent infrastructural problems.

"My experience of working with Pedro has been fantastic. I cannot recommend him highly enough:he is very organised, creative, reliable and above all an inspiring individual. I worked with him as he made a sofa for me using only open source and I was very please with the results which showed mastery of his creative and technical craft. Recently, I worked with him in an advisory function for Garagem Fab Lab, the world ́s first fab lab made entirely by open source. Pedro is highly skilled, passionate and turned the dream of making the first open source bike into a reality. I can highly recommend working with Pedro as his field of expertise is vast and covers the creative, technical, hardware, software and business side"
